The Taiwan Good Travel Sun Moon Lake-Alishan Line, jointly promoted by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Management Office of the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and Yuanlin Passenger Transport, will operate an additional pair of services on holidays (including national holidays) starting from May 1st this year (113) There will be buses departing from Sun Moon Lake Shuishe Comprehensive Shopping Mall at 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., and buses departing from Alishan Transfer Station at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. for tourists to choose from, making travel arrangements more convenient. The Sun Moon Lake-Alishan Line has been well received since its launch in December 2012 under the “Taiwan Travel” brand, with an average ridership rate of about 70%. However, there is only one flight between Sun Moon Lake Shuishe and Alishan Transfer Station during holidays. In order to meet the demand of domestic and foreign tourists and avoid the difficulty of finding a seat during holidays, an additional double flight will be opened on holidays (including national holidays) starting from May 1st.

It includes the Plum Dream Factory, which displays and sells the specialty green plums and wine products of Xinyi Township in Nantou County, the famous Tatajia couple tree on the new Zhongheng Highway, the Tatajia Recreation Area and surrounding trails in Yushan National Park, as well as retaining some of the old railway paved sleepers and The Tefune Kodo Trail along the trestle has very charming views of the mountains and forests along the way.

The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area and the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area at the starting and ending points of this route are even more famous. For food DIY activities, the Riyue Old Tea Factory is the filming location of the famous Taiwanese drama “Cha Jin”, the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village is a popular tourist amusement park in the central region; and the Taiwan Haoxing Checheng Line departs from Sun Moon Lake to Checheng. Along the way, you can go to the century-old Shuili Snake Kiln to experience hand-pulling DIY.
