Angel Stadium is located in Anaheim, Orange County. Xiao Beiru, director of the Orange County Overseas Chinese Cultural and Educational Service Center, is very supportive of Major League Baseball’s “Taiwan Day”. She said that by holding this event at the Angels’ home stadium for the second year, she hopes to connect local Taiwanese and American communities in Southern California so that everyone can work together to promote Taiwan’s image.

Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee member Chen Qi-geng, president of the Gan County Taiwan-American Chamber of Commerce, thanked former Taiwan Brothers Elephants professional baseball player Dai Yucheng for his behind-the-scenes promotion, and said that baseball is a world sport that has received love and attention from Taiwanese and American people. He also called on friends who support and recognize Taiwan to participate in the rare “Angels Taiwan Day” and look forward to developing more activities that will focus on the overseas Chinese community and American society.

Lin Cuiyun, a member of the Orange County Taiwan Heritage Week Preparatory Committee, said that this year, under the guidance of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles and the Orange Overseas Chinese Center, not only the “Three Princes” were invited to help out, but also the new Chinese professional baseball team Kaohsiung was invited from Taiwan. The Taiwan Steel Eagles Cheerleaders – Wing Stars performed as the opening act. In addition, with the assistance of EVA Air and the Tourism Bureau, there will also be an exhibition at the Taiwan Cultural Village.

This year’s “Taiwan Day” seats are the same as last year, located in Sections 101-104, 201-205, 257-260, which is next to the outfield home run area and the pitcher’s bullpen. Coach Dai reminded the spectators to remember to wear baseball gloves and be ready to catch the ball. Because the home run rate in the “Taiwan Day” game was very high, last year’s “Angels Taiwan Day” hit a total of four home runs, and fans happily grabbed the ball.

Each “Taiwan Day” ticket is US$40 and comes with a commemorative T-shirt. Available in men’s M and XL sizes this time, they will be distributed at the Rose Garden near Gate 1 at Angel Stadium. The game started at 6:38, and the stadium opened to fans at 5:08. For those who have not yet purchased tickets, please contact the official “Angels Taiwan Day” ticket package website https://www.mlb.com/angels/tickets/specials/taiwan to purchase tickets. ◇
