2024 Songjiang District National Lifelong Learning Activity Week and Reading Festival opens

On April 23, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Songjiang District National Lifelong Learning Activity Week and Reading Festival was held at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. The theme of the activity week is “Civilized Practice, Lifelong Learning for the Future”, which focuses on the new achievements of Songjiang citizens’ lifelong learning, the new achievements in the construction of the “Land of Books”, and the new development in the construction of a learning city.

At the opening ceremony, the first batch of winners of the 2023 “Land of Books” National Reading Award Program, Shanghai’s New Brand Project for Lifelong Learning, Shanghai People’s Learning Stars and Shanghai’s Excellent Learning Organizations performed well in the construction of a learning city. Outstanding advanced collectives and individuals were commended, and the “Realm of Books” recommended reading list for citizens, the “Ecological Songjiang, Slow Travel in the Countryside” cultural walking route and the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Enter the Campus, Role Models Promote Growth” actions were released.

Among them, the cultural walking route takes “Dangli Pujiang”, “Maotian Flower Sea”, “Country Hibiscus” and “Pujiang Style” as the themes, and selects 12 points with Songjiang’s local and ecological characteristics, including the head of Pujiang River and Songnan Country Park. , forming the seventh cultural walking route in Songjiang District, leading citizens to return to nature in search of greenery and roots, experience the ecological beauty of returning to nature, and explore the “green code” of Songjiang’s rural changes.

The 2024 Songjiang District College Student Community Course Creation Competition and the 2024 Songjiang Special Action to Bring Financial Knowledge into the Community were also launched simultaneously. “We hope that more young people will participate in lifelong education and serve grassroots communities.” The head of the Vocational Education and Lifelong Education Section of the Songjiang District Education Bureau introduced that these are two special projects launched by the District Education Bureau this year, aiming to vigorously expand citizens’ willingness to learn. Community education resource channels, the latter will rely on 56 Rural Commercial Bank “Heart Home” sites to carry out “Finance into the Community” activities.

In recent years, Songjiang District has continued to promote the construction of a learning society, continuously improved the four-level lifelong education network, optimized the supply of lifelong education resources, and improved the quality of lifelong education services, relying on nearby and convenient “rural teahouse classrooms”, “courtyard classrooms” and “bench classrooms” Learning places, three types of learning points, experience bases, etc., jointly create a “15-minute community learning circle” to meet the growing learning needs of citizens in the district. Next, we will use this event as an opportunity to accelerate the construction of Songjiang learning city, build more lifelong learning “gas stations”, and provide more learning opportunities for citizens.

This event was guided by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Songjiang District New Era Civilization Practice Center, and sponsored by the District Civilization Office, District Education Bureau, and District Culture and Tourism Bureau. More than 600 people including student representatives from various streets and towns, representatives of outstanding learning organizations, and heads of relevant units participated.
