Strictly organize examination registration work and strengthen candidate qualification review
According to reports, Hainan Province has strictly organized the registration work for this year’s high school entrance examination and further improved the joint review and joint inspection working mechanism. Education departments at all levels will work with relevant departments to conduct qualification reviews such as candidate registration and bonus points, and implement the principle of “who is in charge, who reviews, and who confirms” “, who is responsible” responsibility system to ensure the implementation of department responsibilities. At the same time, information technology and traditional means will be combined to adopt methods such as big data screening and matching, on-site roll call at school entrance, etc., to accurately grasp the candidates’ household registration, school status, actual school attendance and entry and exit trajectory and other relevant examination registration information to ensure the conclusion of the registration qualification review Accurate.
As of April 20, during the registration process for the high school entrance examination, it was confirmed after review that there were 980 overseas candidates with household registration in other provinces in Hainan Province, and 10 children of high-level talents whose household registration was not in Hainan Province. These two types of candidates All of them meet the registration requirements for the Hainan Provincial High School Entrance Examination, but are included in the recruitment scope of Hainan Provincial General High School Separate Plan. In addition, 10 previous students and returning candidates were disqualified because they did not meet the registration conditions.
In the college entrance examination registration work, after strict review, 841 people were restricted from applying for the exam because they did not meet the conditions of student registration, household registration or guardian social security. 123 people were canceled or gave up their registration because they did not meet the registration conditions or personal reasons. 8 The children of introduced high-level talents all meet the conditions for unlimited application batches.
The majority of college entrance examination candidates can log in to the college entrance examination registration system in time to check their registration qualification review conclusions, physical examination results and other important information. The high school entrance examination recruitment policy will be refined and relevant policies for this year’s high school entrance examination and high-level recruitment will be released as soon as possible.
The relevant person in charge of the Hainan Provincial Examination Bureau said that this year Hainan Province will further refine and implement relevant policies on the review of qualifications for high school entrance examinations and the scope of admissions to ordinary high schools.
The first is to sign the application commitment. Develop a letter of commitment, requiring candidates who have returned from abroad and their guardians to sign and promise not to register for the high school entrance examination at the place of student registration, and submit it as a necessary registration material for review to strengthen candidates’ awareness of integrity in applying for the examination.
The second is to add registration types. On the basis of dividing the two registration types of fresh graduates and former students in previous years, an additional registration type is added for children of high-level talents who are overseas return candidates and whose household registration and student registration are not in Hainan Province. These two new types of candidates are admitted under separate plans and are not included in the recruitment scope of the 2024 “provincial first-level schools” and cooperative schools’ target students, unified enrollment, independent enrollment and other plans.
The third is to refine the study characteristics. For fresh graduates with junior high school status in Hainan Province, four different types of student status and years of study are further set up: 1. Not studying in the same school during the junior high school stage; 2. Have student status in the ninth grade of the city or county school and have studied in the ninth grade for one year. ; 3. Have a three-year junior high school enrollment in the city and county school and have studied for three years; 4. Have a ninth-grade enrollment in the provincial school and have studied in the ninth grade for one year (transfer between cities and counties within the province in ninth grade). These four types of candidates with different characteristics are respectively limited to the recruitment targets of different program categories of ordinary high schools. Cities, counties and schools are urged to verify and confirm the relevant situations of the candidates one by one to ensure that the admissions are accurate.
It is reported that the required items for the physical education examination for high school entrance examinations have been tested and the optional items are in progress. It is expected that all cities and counties will complete the examination in early May. This year, the scores and items of sports subjects in the high school entrance examinations have “double increased”. The scores have increased from 50 points to 60 points, and the number of elective examination items has increased from 2 to 5.
At present, the review of the student status and years of study of high school entrance examination candidates is still in progress. Hainan Province will urge all city and county education departments and schools to publicize the review results before May 20, and strictly investigate “separation of student status”, “empty student status” and fraud etc. behavior. Further strengthen supervision and accountability, and handle all types of complaints and reports in a timely manner. Once the relevant complaints and reports are verified, they will be contacted or referred to the relevant departments to severely deal with the violating units and individuals.
The relevant person in charge of the Hainan Provincial Examination Bureau said that no matter whether it is during the registration stage, before the exam, after the exam, or even if the candidates have been admitted to the school, as long as they are found to have committed fraud to obtain registration qualifications and other irregularities, they will always adhere to a “zero tolerance” attitude. We will find and deal with everything together, never tolerate it, and resolutely maintain fairness and justice in examination and enrollment. At the same time, candidates, parents and all walks of life are welcome to report various violations of regulations and disciplines related to examinations and recruitment to the Provincial Examination Bureau through various channels and methods.
At the same time, Hainan Province will formulate the “Implementation Measures for General College Enrollment and Admissions in 2024” as soon as possible and make it public to the public, study and issue relevant policies and measures for high school admissions in 2024 as soon as possible, and further optimize the general high school enrollment scope, enrollment batch setting and independent enrollment rules, etc. Further increase the number of general high school enrollment plans, do a good job in publicity and interpretation of relevant policies, and properly respond to the concerns of the masses.
