Across the road from Universal Studios Beijing, the “Wanli” project, a new cultural and tourism landmark in the city’s sub-center, has reached an important milestone. Yesterday, the outlet commercial complex with the largest construction area in Beijing was successfully capped and is scheduled to be completed within the year. As a micro-resort town built on the Zhangjiawan Metro depot, the “Wanli” project brings together a variety of business formats to meet the shopping, leisure and entertainment needs of different groups of people and inject strong impetus into the economic and social development of the sub-center.

The “Wanli” project is jointly developed and constructed by three municipal state-owned enterprises, Beijing Investment Corporation, Beijing Tourism Group and Beijing Urban Construction Group, with an investment of over 10 billion yuan and a total development scale of approximately 500,000 square meters. This project is a new generation TOD demonstration project in Beijing. It is a comprehensive development oriented by public transportation. The popular understanding is “building a house on the subway depot.”

Close to the Universal Theme Park to the west and the main East Sixth Ring Road to the east, the “Wanli” project has a strategic location and convenient transportation. Walking out of Huazhuang Station of Metro Batong Line and Line 7, you will find the project location. In the future, after the S6 line is opened, three tracks will intersect here. After exiting the subway station, citizens and tourists can directly enter the shopping mall and Tingyun Town through the corridor commercial street.

“Line S6 will connect the Capital Airport, Daxing Airport and the sub-central hub. In the future, tourists within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region can quickly and directly reach this resort town through rail transit, together with Universal Studios, Green Heart Park, and three major cultural buildings. Wait for the sub-center attractions and arrange a three-day and two-night vacation trip.” Zhou Luwei, assistant general manager of Huanhui Real Estate Company, said that citizens can choose to take one stop of the subway, take the shuttle bus, or walk from the small town to Universal Studios. Arrive on foot across the overpass.

Enrich business formats to create a city that never sleeps

From the terrace of Tingyun Art Museum, you can overlook the Harry Potter Castle across the road. As the exhibition center of the “Wanli” project, Tingyun Art Museum has been completed and opened. Walking into the museum is like entering the white, flawless and shining clouds. Around the “Yunduo” building, the main structure construction of Tingyun Town, built above the Zhangjiawan subway depot, has started.

In the future, this town’s rich business formats will attract different groups of people to come for leisure and vacation. Zhou Luwei introduced that the four major experience centers of Tingyun Town: Science Exploration Hall, Children’s Experience Hall, LIVEHOUSE, and Tangquan Life Hall have successfully completed the brand placement through public bidding.

Among them, the Science Exploration Center will build Beijing’s first “China National Geographic Exploration Center”, using China’s physical geography science as the background and integrating Mesozoic dinosaur elements to allow children and teenagers to increase their knowledge in an immersive experience.

The children’s experience center will join hands with the French Little Prince IP to create the first “Little Prince Theme Park” in China. Its space construction and amusement design inspiration are derived from the story scenes in the Little Prince fairy tale, integrating music, art, entertainment and other elements. Start a journey into the magical world of the Little Prince for children.

The music theme pavilion is the core engine for Tingyun Town to build a city that never sleeps. It will bring a new nightlife social entertainment experience through live music, holiday activities, celebrity interactive activities, etc.

  O’Leary’s “Hidden” Art Center

Yesterday, the “Wanli” project was completed, which is the largest single project in the area and is also the largest outlet commercial complex in Beijing. The main structure has been capped successfully, and construction of indoor decoration, electromechanical and outdoor curtain walls, domes, etc. will be fully launched. The building is a steel structure frame with six floors above ground and two floors underground. It has a construction area of nearly 190,000 square meters, a total height of 36 meters, and a steel structure of approximately 40,000 tons.

Judging from the sand table, this shopping mall inspired by the “sky garden” is not only large in scale, but also very artistic. From an aerial view, you can see that the atrium No. 3 is designed with a waterfall pouring down from the roof, with a water curtain as high as 30 meters. In addition, there is also a “Wanli Art Center” “hidden” in the outlet mall, which regularly holds contemporary art exhibitions and uses art to empower business.

While strolling through Tingyun Town, citizens can encounter large-scale art installations at any time. “We purchased an old train of Line 1 and placed it in the hotel park. It has a sense of age and is expected to become a check-in point in the future.” Zhou Luwei told reporters.

The “Wanli” project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, and will be ready for opening in July 2025. Wanli Wangfujing Outlets, Wanli Nuolan Hotel and Tingyun Town will welcome tourists at home and abroad. By then, the sub-central cultural tourism area will usher in new popular cultural and tourism destinations.
