The heavy rainfall in Guangxi has a wide range and strong intensity, and the scope of heavy rain is rare in April. According to live monitoring, heavy rains occurred at 39 national meteorological observation stations in the region from April 19 to 21, which was the largest heavy rain event in April since 1962. At the same time, heavy rainfall areas were concentrated, with heavy rains occurring in Hezhou, southern Guilin, northern Laibin, and northern Wuzhou for two consecutive days.

In addition, along with this large-scale heavy rainfall process, strong convective weather is also very frequent in many places in Guangxi. In some areas, strong winds above level 8 occurred, with the maximum being 35.7 meters/second (level 12) in Weizhou Town, Haicheng, Beihai; Baise, Hechi, Hail occurred in Guilin, Laibin, Nanning, Wuzhou, Qinzhou, Chongzuo, Fangchenggang and other places. A tornado of moderate intensity also occurred in Teng County, Wuzhou from 8:30 to 9:15 on the 20th.

According to the forecast, rainfall in various parts of Guangxi will weaken significantly today and tomorrow, but heavy rains may still occur in western and southern Guangxi, so precautions need to be taken.

Specifically, today, there will be moderate rain, local heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, hail and other strong convective weather in Fangchenggang, Qinzhou, Beihai, Yulin, Wuzhou, Guigang, Nanning, Chongzuo, Baise and other cities in Guangxi and in the west of Hechi. The area will be cloudy to cloudy with showers or thunderstorms and local heavy rain.

Tomorrow, it will be cloudy to cloudy with showers or thunderstorms in southern Guangxi. There will be moderate rain in southeastern Guangxi, local heavy to heavy rain, and it will be cloudy in northern Guangxi.
