In the name of “Taiwan”, 22 teams and 123 performers will gather at the Lavitt Park, the venue of the Paris Cultural Olympics, to represent Taiwan in the Paris Cultural Olympics. Deputy Minister of Culture Wang Shisi said that Taiwan’s performing arts should be seen on the world stage.

When Wang Shisi was questioned by Democratic Progressive Party legislator Wu Peiyi at the Legislative Yuan Education and Culture Committee on the 25th, four themes were planned for this year. “Voice of Freedom” will let the world see Taiwan’s diversity due to democracy through performances; “Island Beauty” introduction Taiwan’s traditional customs.

“Contemporary New Ideas” is curated by Wang Zhaoqian and features newly adapted Hakka cross-gee operas; “World Integration” features drag queen Nifeiya, showing the values ​​that Taiwan and the world adhere to.

Wang Shisi said that under these four major concepts, performers will be invited including orchestras, dance troupes, theater troupes, DJs and drag queens; Wu Peiyi said that Nifeiya is brave enough to be herself, and she made her fortune in her constituency, which is also the Red House in Ximending. , “This is the origin of Taiwan’s drag queens. I hope the government can continue to support these emerging performing arts.”

Wu Peiyi said that she hopes the Ministry of Culture can well nurture future artists. “The government cannot take advantage of others just because it is the light of Taiwan. The government should be the backing for nurturing talents.”

Wang Shisi mentioned that she and Culture Minister Shi Zhe had already visited the La Villette Park in France for site inspection. They originally hoped to bring an electronic float, but because it would be regarded as an “imported vehicle”, the regulations and procedures were complicated, and in the end it was revealed that The design makes the scene appear as if it is in front of a temple, showing a stage performance like an electronic float.

Wang Shisi said that the Ravit Park has invited more than 10 countries to participate, and Taiwan is one of them. Its neighbors include Mongolia and the Czech Republic. Since the Ravit Park is located on the road that must pass through the Olympic athletes’ dormitories, it has a good chance for everyone to see it. . At present, organizations including the Committee of Agriculture have also joined in, airlifting Taiwanese snacks and delicacies, hoping that the performance team can not only perform on behalf of Taiwan, but also have a taste of hometown.

Currently, the Taiwan Pavilion work team is expected to have the hardware advance to the park on July 15, and the performance team and staff will arrive to join the work on July 18. The event is expected to start on July 26 and end on August 11.
