Wang Huimei praised the Kaohsiung Design Exhibition for incorporating Kaohsiung’s local industrial characteristics and cultural heritage into design elements through the efforts of Mayor Chen and the city government team, perfectly presenting the exhibition main axis of “Taiwan Design Taiwan” and achieving the goal of transforming the city and developing industries. Wang Huimei said that the Taiwan Design Exhibition will be held in Changhua in 2025. Today, she led the Changhua County Government team to ask for help from Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai’s city government team. The Economic and Green Energy Development Department of the Changhua County Government stated that the main exhibition venue of the Kaohsiung Design Exhibition is located in the Pier 2 Art Zone in the Penglai Commercial Port District of Kaohsiung Port. It used to be an economic island that created miracles of export sales. Through the holding of the Taiwan Design Exhibition, it has changed It is a “design island” for design export; the urban exhibition area uses design to introduce historical buildings to reorganize and review the city’s memory; and then extends the design response to surrounding venues to connect a strip of abundant activities. The Changhua Design Exhibition will use Changhua City and Lukang Town, two century-old towns, as the main exhibition area. Through the strip effect of the main venue and surrounding auxiliary venues, it will be matched with Xizhou Park and Changnan’s corporate and local response sites to showcase local culture. The combination of heritage and future design trends allows Changhua, with its rich and high-quality history and humanity, to shine even more brightly through the design exhibition.

The Department of Economic and Green Energy Development stated that the design exhibition is a cross-disciplinary exhibition with both industrial and humanistic characteristics. The content of the Kaohsiung Design Exhibition spans themes such as industrial development, circular design, local industries, smart tourism, youth design, and the metaverse. Through outstanding design teams in the fields of architecture, graphics, music, fashion, and public welfare, it has created a spectacular scene with nearly 6 million visitors and a total hotel booking rate of more than 80% in the city; Changhua is known as an “agricultural and industrial county” and a “small and medium-sized county”. Known as the “Hometown of Enterprises”, the county government will make use of the experience of observing the Kaohsiung Design Exhibition to introduce design into “Opening Changhua”, planning the main exhibition venue to connect surrounding satellite exhibition areas, introducing human-centered design, micro-renovation of public spaces and pedestrians in each exhibition area. The pedestrian space optimization project promotes comprehensive upgrading of public areas such as Changhua’s urban redevelopment, human-oriented environment, convenient transportation, green sustainability, and venue optimization.
