On Wednesday (November 8) local time, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) found a black plastic bag containing female body parts in a trash can in a parking lot near a restaurant and nail salon, and arrested a man suspected of killing his wife. suspect. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Chinese woman was killed and her body was dismembered. The whereabouts of her parents who lived with the victim were also unknown.

The police said that at 5:30 pm on November 7, someone called the police and found a bag outside the suspect’s house and saw the dismembered body. When police arrived at the scene, the bag had disappeared.

At about 6:15 a.m. on November 8, a homeless man found body parts next to a trash can. He was rummaging through the trash for recyclable plastic bottles.

The police initially determined that the body parts found in the garbage bag were that of a Chinese woman, Mei Li Haskell, who took her husband’s surname and was also called Mei Haskell. The police also pointed out that it is difficult to confirm who the remains belong to, and must rely on DNA evidence to confirm.

The parking lot where Li Mei’s remains were found is about 8 kilometers from the 4100 block of Coldstream Terrace where she lived. After reviewing the surveillance footage at the scene, the police determined that the victim’s 35-year-old husband, Samuel Haskell, was a major suspect.

At 11:25 a.m. on the 8th, the suspect suspected of brutally killing his wife was arrested at the Westfield Topanga shopping mall in Canoga Park. Police said evidence of the crime, including some blood stains and other physical evidence that has not yet been made public, was found in the house where the suspect and the victim lived together, and investigators are still looking for more clues.

Police believe Li Mei was killed within the past few days.

On the morning of the 9th, an unnamed woman said that she was a friend and neighbor of the victim Li Mei, and had invited the couple to a family gathering. “I was shocked about her husband.
