Zhitong Finance APP learned that on November 10, iResearch released the “2023 Q3 China Mobile Internet Traffic Quarterly Report”. The report points out that as of September 2023, the number of monthly independent devices of China Mobile Internet has reached 1.392 billion for seven consecutive months. The online stickiness of netizens has continued to decline in Q2. The average daily usage time per capita is 4.41 hours, which is -24.9 minutes month-on-month. The number of daily uses was 62.1 times, -5.5 times month-on-month. iResearch pointed out that netizens’ online attention is focused on leisure and entertainment, daily life needs and other related industries. Among the 23 first-level industries, 15 industries such as tourism and travel, life services, community social networking, and search services have achieved positive year-on-year traffic growth.
Real estate services, from July to September, the real estate service industry traffic continued the year-on-year negative growth trend in the second half of Q2, with monthly active users declining by 14.1%, 14.6%, and 11.6% respectively. The overall industry traffic in Q3 fell by 13.4% compared with the average for the same period in 2022. In the real estate service industry, the business scope covers real estate sales/leasing/decoration and other services. The TOP3 APPs Anjuke, Beikezhuanghuan and Lianjia, which have the largest user base, have overall active user scale in each natural week in the third quarter of 2023. The overall number of active users is lower than that in the same period in 2022. .
Automobile services, from July to September 2023, the industry traffic overall stabilized, with monthly activity increasing by 5.0%, 3.2%, and 5.2% respectively year-on-year. The automobile service industry covers traffic violation inquiries, automobile information, driving license tests, car care and other information closely related to car owners. Among them, the number of active users of the TOP3 APPs in the automotive information industry, Autohome, Dianchedi, and Bitauto, continued to grow in Q3, with month-on-month growth rates of more than 5%.
Food takeout and user online and offline catering consumption market continued to regain momentum in Q3. The traffic of the food delivery industry in August was less than that of the same period in 2021, but both July and September hit peaks in the same period in the past three years. From July to September 2023, the overall APP traffic growth rate in the industry was positive year-on-year. In July, the number of active users in the industry exceeded 225 million, the highest in the past 22 months.
Tourism and travel: From July to September, the traffic of the tourism and travel industry was at a high level, and the number of monthly active users continued to show positive growth compared with the same period last year. Comparing each month of Q3 with the average of the same period in 2020, 2021, and 2022, the growth rates were 0.6%, 0.2%, and 2.5% respectively.
Movie ticketing, from July to September, the traffic of the movie ticketing industry continued to grow rapidly, with an average year-on-year increase of 73.2%. In the first summer vacation after the epidemic, the number of active users in the industry reached a high of 23.973 million in July, an increase of 913.0 million compared with the average of the same period in the three years from 2020 to 2022. The Q3 year-on-year growth rates of traffic for Taopiaopiao and Maoyan Movies, the top two apps in the industry, both exceeded 50%.
Short video, as of Q3 2023, the average number of daily uses of short video industry users has stabilized at around 14 times. Users have developed usage habits and the frequency of use is high; from the perspective of single use time, in September this year, users used a single time The duration reached a historical peak, with an increase of 3.4% year-on-year and 6.7% compared with the same period in 2021, further improving user stickiness.
Game services: The number of active users in the game services industry continued to grow in Q3 2023, with an average year-on-year growth rate of 9.8%, but the growth rate slowed down slightly compared to the previous two quarters. Judging from the per capita daily usage time, it decreased by 31.8 minutes year-on-year from July to September 2023, which was a significant decline compared with the 2022 epidemic period.
Overall, iResearch pointed out that in 2023Q3, the top three APPs with a compound growth rate of more than 100 million MAU (monthly active devices) are: 12306 official version, Didi Chuxing, and Enterprise WeChat; APPs with a MAU of more than 50 million have a compound growth rate. The top three in terms of growth are: Migu Video, Xiaomi Security Center, and Meituan Waimai; among the apps with an MAU of more than 10 million, the top three in terms of compound growth are: Perfect Campus, Taopiaopiao, and SF Express.
