New Zealand Chinese Herald Network Lesley Comprehensive News This afternoon (September 18), an injury occurred in Albany, North Shore, Auckland. Just now, the police released the latest information, confirming that one person was killed in the incident. The police have now launched a homicide investigation.

The incident occurred around 12:50 p.m. Witnesses pointed out that there was a lot of blood at the scene and someone had been stabbed. Police initially said two people were injured. One of them was seriously injured and the other suffered minor injuries.

In the latest statement, Detective Inspector Callum McNeill, of Waitematā Police Criminal Investigations Branch, said one person was taken to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition following the incident this afternoon.

“The man later died from his injuries and police launched a homicide investigation.

“Police are currently actively investigating to identify those responsible and hold them accountable.”

While the investigation is still in its early stages, Inspector McNeill said it appeared to be an isolated incident.

“We know the community is understandably shocked by what happened today. The public will see an increased police presence in the area during further inquiries.

“Police have established an on-site presence at the bus station this afternoon and may continue overnight.”

Police are reminding the public that this may cause delays for passengers who normally use the bus station.

Buses will be diverted to other bus stops on Don McKinnon Drive, more information is available on the Auckland Transport website.

“We thank the public for their patience and cooperation.”

Inspector McNeill said police were continuing to speak to a number of witnesses who were at the scene.“We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet contacted police.”
