On September 22, 2013, Bo Xilai was sentenced to life imprisonment; on May 8, 2018, Sun Zhengcai was sentenced to life imprisonment. In addition, three former Chongqing public security bureau chiefs Wang Lijun, He Ting, and Deng Huilin were arrested, and a large number of senior officials were investigated.
