“From two to six in the afternoon, there are usually no people on the roads in the village. Every household is busy making orders and shipping goods in the house!” Li Shizhong, secretary of the Party branch of Shuiquanwang Village, said, pointing to the small villas.

Shuiquanwang Village is surrounded by water on three sides. There are hundreds of springs in the village. The villagers rely on the water to drink water. Since ancient times, they have the habit of weaving and weaving nets for fishing. As the fishing and capture breeding markets become increasingly prosperous, the demand for fishing gear such as dip nets has soared. Weaving and selling dip nets has become a major industry in Shuiquanwang Village and surrounding villages. Coupled with the convenient transportation, Shuiquanwang Village has a prominent depression effect, and merchants began to gather here. The village has gradually become a production, acquisition, wholesale and export base for net copying.

How to further develop the market? In 2012, a group of visionary and enterprising farmers born in the 1980s and 1990s in Shuiquanwang Village began to explore selling fishing nets and fishing gear through e-commerce, allowing fishing nets to connect to the “fast lane” of the Internet, creating a “double network” interactive promote a new model of economic development. At that time, more than 50 e-commerce stores in the village created employment for thousands of people in the surrounding area, making Shuiquanwang Village a well-known “Taobao Village”.

In 2020, as the villagers’ e-commerce business grows bigger and bigger, in order to further meet the needs of merchants and enhance the cluster effect, Shuiquanwang Village follows the development idea of ”branch leads the way, party members lead the way, and industries pave the way”, relying on township state-owned companies—— Henan Shuiquanwang Industrial Development Co., Ltd. is making every effort to promote the construction of a local e-commerce industrial park with fishing nets and fishing gear as the leading industry.

The industrial park focuses on the production, processing and online sales of fishing nets and fishing gear. It has six major areas including production and processing, warehousing, logistics, living and office, comprehensive research and development, and trading centers. Focusing on the leisure fishing industry, the park builds production workshops, sales platforms and warehousing and logistics centers, vigorously develops online and offline transactions of processed products, promotes a modern trading and circulation system with standardized warehousing, makes the industry famous, and promotes distinctive features, the gathering of leaders, and production The efficient fishing net and fishing gear industry chain develops healthily.

Building 1 of Shuiquanwang Fishing Nets and Fishing Gear E-commerce Industrial Park is the workshop of Xiping County Xinshengda Fishing Products Co., Ltd. Just after noon, a box full of orders for the day had been filled, and delivery clerk Yu Xuefen was shuttled among the shelves to distribute goods according to order requirements. On the rows of shelves in front of you, various products such as fishing rods, fish guards, fishing baits, and fishing nets are arranged in an orderly manner. “You can find all kinds of fishing gear products in our workshop.” Yu Xuefen said with a smile.

Li Xinjiang, the person in charge of Xinshengda, is 38 years old this year and was one of the first “crab eaters” in the Shuiquanwang e-commerce industry. Today, his e-commerce business has grown from a family workshop to a large company with annual sales of over 100 million yuan.

In Factory Building No. 4 of the industrial park, Zhang Ailing, who is nearly 70 years old, is skillfully operating tools to process aluminum bars into circles. The already processed aluminum circles on the side are neatly arranged in a bundle of 25. “It’s only 15 cents each. I can make more than 500 in a day and earn more than 2,000 yuan a month. It’s better than sitting idle at home.” Behind her, there are square ones, round ones, big ones, small ones, different lengths and widths… Various types of fish protection aluminum rings are placed in half of the workshop.

At present, the industrial park has completed the construction of the third phase of the project with a total investment of 80 million yuan, and has improved related supporting facilities such as fire protection, drainage, sewage, electricity, tap water, and natural gas. The industrial park has settled 6 companies that produce and sell fishing nets and fishing gear, with an annual output value of 300 million yuan, creating direct employment for 150 people and radiating employment for 2,000 people. There are currently 57 major e-commerce households in the village, of which 7 have assets of over 100 million yuan.

The good e-commerce development environment in the village has attracted many young people to return home and start their own businesses. Five years ago, he returned to his hometown to start an e-commerce business. Wang Xiwen, a young man born in 1995, is now running his business successfully: “I studied e-commerce related majors in college. After graduation, I did e-commerce training for three years. Later, I saw my family If the environment is good, I will return home and start my own business.”

Today, with his accumulated experience in product selection and marketing, Wang Xiwen can receive one to two thousand orders every day, earning almost three to five million yuan a year. As the business grew, Wang Xiwen rented a 600-square-meter warehouse in the village last year and hired four or five villagers to help assemble the goods. The workers’ average monthly salary was about 2,500 yuan.

Li Shizhong said that Shuiquan Wangcun will further promote the integration of logistics resources, make efforts in brand operation, and rely on Wangquan Zhilian Trading Co., Ltd. to create a high-end brand focusing on fishing nets and fishing gear. At the same time, relying on the fishing net and fishing gear industrial park in the village, the Liuyan River channel environment is renovated, and efforts are made to build Shuiquanwang Village into a characteristic fishery town in southern Henan that integrates fishing nets and fishing gear, fishing, catering, leisure and entertainment, and sightseeing.

In recent years, Xiping County has given full play to the role of the e-commerce industry in promoting the integrated development of domestic and foreign trade and promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. It has actively promoted the integrated development of e-commerce and the real economy and assisted rural revitalization. In 2023, the number of active stores of online companies in Xiping County reached 1,017, with a cumulative online retail sales of 1.721 billion yuan and an online retail volume of 68.0967 million items.
