He was accused of “associating with political swindlers” and illegally receiving huge amounts of property.
According to an official report from the CCP, Han Yong was accused of “befriending political swindlers and engaging in political speculation”; illegally accepting banquets, travel activities, and gifts; selling his official position; illegally purchasing houses at low prices; illegally intervening in law enforcement activities; and engaging in power-for-money transactions. Making profits for others in business operations, project contracting, etc., and illegally accepting huge amounts of property, etc. Therefore, Han Yong was expelled from the CCP and his benefits were revoked according to regulations.
Han Yong was accused of “associating with a political liar”, which aroused heated discussions among netizens: “Political liar? This word is rarely seen in notices.” “What is a political liar?” “Who is the political liar?”
On April 12 this year, the “Study Times”, the organ of the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, published an article stating that in recent years, “political liars” have been mentioned many times in the notices issued by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission on investigating and punishing officials. Now the central government is stepping up efforts to Vigorously crack down on the problem of making friends and acting as “political liars”, and resolutely eradicate the habitat of “political liars”.
The article once again named Fu Zhenghua, the former deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China, and Liu Xinyun, the former deputy governor of Shanxi Province and former director of the Provincial Public Security Department, as “political liars”. Fu Zhenghua and Liu Xinyun are both key members of the “political gang” of Sun Lijun, the former deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China.
Yuan Hongbing, a liberal legal scholar living in Australia, revealed in the latest “Elite Forum” program that a major case occurred within the Xi family army. More than 170 CCP officials above the military level and close associates such as Qin Gang and Li Shangfu had problems. This is also an extremely heavy blow to Xi Jinping, the leader of the Communist Party of China. Han Yong, 67, will retire on October 19, 2023. He has served in Jilin, Xinjiang, Shaanxi and other places, and served as the Procurator-General and Party Secretary of the Songyuan City Procuratorate of Jilin Province; Deputy Procurator-General and Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Jilin Provincial Procuratorate; Deputy Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Director of the Provincial Supervision Department Equal grade.
Since July 2004, Han Yong has successively served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Xinjiang Party Committee, Minister of the Organization Department, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and Chairman of the China New Construction Group (at the ministerial level); in January 2016, he served as Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Party Leadership Group Secretary; In March 2022, he served as deputy director of the Population Resources and Environment Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Han Yong is also an alternate member of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and former leader of the Central Steering Group.
In recent years, a large number of officials have been dismissed from Shaanxi officialdom.
On May 29, 2023, Li Jinzhu, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress, was dismissed. He once served as the deputy governor of Shaanxi and was a subordinate of Zhao Zhengyong, the former secretary of Shaanxi who was dismissed.
On July 31, 2020, Zhao Zhengyong, the former secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Shaanxi Province, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a suspended death sentence. He was accused of accepting bribes of more than 717 million yuan, which he was accused of being involved in two major Shaanxi cases, the Qinling villa case and the Shaanxi 100 billion mining rights case.
In January 2018, Feng Xinzhu, the former deputy governor of Shaanxi Province, was investigated and sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2019.
In November 2018, Qian Yinan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee, was investigated and sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2019.
In May 2017, Wei Minzhou, former member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee, was dismissed and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018.
