Ma Shixun is 42 years old and just got married in 2009. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Insulin continues to be purchased

In 2021, the National Medical Insurance Administration organized the first centralized procurement of insulin, and it began to be implemented in May 2022. At that time, it was also the first centralized procurement of biologics organized at the national level. The two-year agreement for centralized insulin procurement will expire in May 2024. On April 17, 2024, the National Medical Insurance Administration stated through its public account that it would carry out continued procurement to consolidate the results of centralized procurement.

It is understood that the bidding for insulin’s follow-up procurement will be opened on April 23. This is the first time that a follow-up procurement has been initiated by the joint procurement office of a national organization. This centralized insulin procurement cycle runs from the date of execution of the winning results to December 31, 2027. The scope of this centralized drug procurement includes prandial human insulin, basal human insulin, premixed human insulin, prandial insulin analogs, basal insulin analogs, and premixed insulin analogs, with a total of 6 purchasing groups.
