The theme of this exhibition is “Strive forward on a new journey and build a new era”, and is divided into “Rural Revitalization to Create a New Chapter”, “Civilized Practice to Cultivate New Styles”, “Happily Celebrating the Harvest”, “Clean Air and Opening a New Game” and “Renewal of the Ancient Canal”. In the five chapters of “Yan”, a total of 628 works were received from 26 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions including Jilin, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Jiangsu, and Chongqing. After expert review, 205 outstanding works were finally selected for exhibition. In addition, under the guidance of six outstanding mass art counselors including Li Zhijun, the intangible inheritor of hand-painted New Year pictures, Pan Yu, a national model worker and one of the top ten peasant calligraphers and painters in the country, and Su Liuying, a national first-class artist, after just half a month, During the mass art training, more than 130 outstanding student works by mass art enthusiasts in Tongzhou District were also exhibited at the same time.

At the academic symposium “Enter a New Journey and Contribute to a New Era – The Role and Status of Mass Art in the Construction of Public Culture” held in the afternoon, Meng Xiangye, deputy secretary-general of the Cultural Center Division of the National Center for Public Culture Development and the Chinese Cultural Center Association, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts Dong Yongjun from the School of Humanities and Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center of the Academy, Ji Feng, a sculptor and vice president of the Chinese Peasant Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, as well as experts and scholars from art schools, peasant painting townships across the country, and academic leaders of local peasant painting organizations, Directors of cultural centers in various sub-districts and towns in Tongzhou District attended the seminar.
