Recently, the 2023 China STEM Education Development Conference was held in Changchun City, Jilin Province. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences, led by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology and other relevant departments, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, etc. More than 500 experts from scientific research and teaching research institutions, as well as teachers from primary and secondary schools and vocational colleges attended the meeting.
With the theme of “Doing a good job in scientific education and paving the way for innovation”, the conference directly faced the new requirements for schools and teachers at all levels in the new era, and explored new and open methods through academic leadership, release of scientific research results, and display of teaching results. STEM education ecology promotes the high-quality development of science education.
At the meeting, Wang Su, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences, summarized the “China STEM Education 2029 Action Plan” and reviewed the work and achievements of the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences and local STEM education collaborative centers in the past five years. The meeting selected the first batch of top 10 pilot schools and seed schools in the “China STEM Education 2029 Action Plan”. Tongxiang Fengming Senior High School was successfully included in the top 10 seed schools and was awarded the “Excellent STEM Education Seed School” trophy.
In 2018, upon the recommendation of the Zhejiang Provincial Teaching and Research Office, Tongxiang Fengming Senior High School was recognized by the STEM Education Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Education Sciences as one of the first batch of seed schools in the “China STEM Education 2029 Action Plan”. In the past five years, under the guidance of the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences and the Teaching and Research Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, the school has focused on the main tasks of the STEM seed school and built a “topic research-based system” based on the “Zhejiang Provincial High School Comprehensive Practical Activity Subject Base”. Leading the “Trinity” discipline base cultivation paradigm of student success, teacher growth, and school development-oriented”, it has effectively improved the research concept of STEM projects, expanded the school’s STEM education resources, and developed a number of STEM activity projects with Jiangnan characteristics and Fenggao temperament. , and effectively improved students’ comprehensive literacy in project promotion and teaching implementation, and also cultivated a group of comprehensive and practical teachers who have achieved certain results in the field of STEM education.
According to the implementation plan of the “China STEM Education 2029 Action Plan”, Fengming High School will continue to actively carry out scientific STEM education theme research, promote the construction of scientific STEM teacher teams, strengthen student science STEM project activities, and participate in domestic and foreign exchanges of scientific STEM education. , in the context of education and mutual wealth, we should do a good job in adding school science education, strengthen the cultivation of innovative talents, and inject stronger vitality into Fengming High School’s training goal of “establishing oneself in humanities and becoming talents in science”.
