Teacher Zhu Jinlei, a technician at the base, told reporters that the core test demonstration base of the Yangzhou Promotion Demonstration Base Project is 503 acres, and the demonstration site construction is 688 acres. This year, the base has mainly completed a comparative test on the screening of new high-quality late-maturing medium-japonica rice varieties, a demonstration of the effect of ear fertilizer application for machine-transplanted rice, a green rice disease prevention and control test, a test on the identification of resistance to rice blast and rice smut, and bio-chemical pesticides Experiments on preventing and controlling rice blast and rice smut, etc. The demonstration variety of rice “machine-transplanted rice special ear fertilizer application effect” is Ningxiangjing No. 9. When applied with special ear fertilizer for rice, compared with conventional compound fertilizer with the same nitrogen content, the base internode is significantly shortened and the lodging resistance is improved, and the actual harvest is achieved. The yield reached 800 kg/mu, an increase of more than 10%. In terms of new high-quality rice varieties, the demonstration rice varieties include Wuyujing 377, Yingxiang No. 1, Yangxiangyu No. 1, Taixiangjing 1402, Wuxiangjing 196, and Nephrite Zhong Among the 16 new varieties including Ke, Wuyujing 377 has an actual yield of 813.58 kg/mu.

Researcher Liu Yongfeng, director of the base, said that the base uses biological pesticides to prevent major diseases at the ear stage of rice, reducing the amount of chemical pesticides by more than 30%. The control effect on rice blast and rice smut is more than 85%, which is better than chemical agents. After seed dressing treatment with biopesticides, the prevention and control effect of rice bakanae disease reaches 85%. In addition, relying on the rice disease prevention and control innovation team of the Plant Protection Institute of the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, we conduct resistance identification tests on rice blast and rice smut every year, providing valuable advice for subsequent variety approvals. Last year, a total of 450 rice varieties were identified for rice blast resistance, and this year the number of rice materials increased to 1,144. The team continues to use biological control and chemical collaborative prevention and control technologies to prevent and control diseases at the ear stage, improving the level of green prevention and control of major rice diseases.
