At the exhibition site, the exhibited works attracted the attention of teachers and students. For example, student Yang Yi’s paper color work “Green Mountains and Green Waters” presents simplified freehand brushwork of characters through outline depiction. With seemingly just a few strokes, the characters appear vividly on the paper; student Gong Zicheng’s wood carving work “Not Myself” is a thought-provoking sculpture of a thinking figure through carving and processing of more than a dozen seemingly rough pieces of wood; student Ding Ting’s work “Looking at Thousand Waves of Rice and Rice” uses a copper plate sculpture to hollow out the figure of Yuan Longping holding rice, giving the audience a new angle to admire scientists.
