Positive contributions have been made in many aspects.

At the just-concluded Hangzhou Asian Games, Zhejiang athletes achieved the best results in history with 51 gold medals, 21 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. In this regard, Wang Li, deputy director of the Hangzhou Municipal Sports Bureau, believes that the sports lottery public welfare fund has played an obvious role. “The Sports Lottery Charity Fund has strongly supported our sports reserve talent base construction, provincial team joint organization, amateur training support, as well as youth sports competitions, talent training and other work.”

Taizhou Tiantai Wenwu Vocational and Technical School is a private school with traditional martial arts programs. In terms of cultivating reserve sports talents in the school, the Sports Lottery Charity Fund has provided a lot of help. It is understood that in order to support the integration of sports and education in schools, Zhejiang Province, Taizhou City, and Tiantai County will allocate nearly 20 million yuan in sports lottery public welfare funds from 2021 to 2023, which has greatly improved the school’s training conditions and teacher standards. Li Qiaoqiao, an athlete trained by the school, won the gold medal in the women’s 68kg category at the Hangzhou Asian Games karate competition.

According to Wang Zhenzhang, director of the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Lottery Management Center, Zhejiang Sports Lottery has long supported the development of sailing, badminton, swimming, shooting, track and field, fighting and other sports in Zhejiang. “As a pillar source of funds for sports, the Sports Lottery Charity Fund provides strong support for athletes to prepare for competitions, purchase training equipment, and build training venues.”

Complementing the bumper harvest of competitive sports, Zhejiang’s national fitness industry has also made rapid progress in recent years. Relevant data shows that last year, the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Lottery Public Welfare Fund spent 640 million yuan on social sports, of which 172 million yuan was spent on competitive sports, while mass sports took the lead with 468 million yuan.

The construction of Zhejiang Trail, a major national fitness project in Zhejiang, benefited from the injection of sports lottery public welfare funds. The demonstration section of the project, Yuhang Jingshan Section, is the starting point of the west line of the Zhejiang-Zhejiang Trail and the location of Pile Zero on the west line. The total length of the route is 6.8 kilometers. The total investment in the project is 5 million yuan, of which 17% is supported by the sports lottery public welfare fund.

With the strong support and strong support of the Sports Lottery Public Welfare Fund, mass sports in Zhejiang are booming. From 2020 to 2022, the province will build 4,578 new sports parks, football fields, people’s gyms and other grassroots sports facilities. The proportion of people who regularly participate in physical exercise will increase to 43.4% (ranking second among provinces and cities), and the national physical fitness pass rate will increase to 94.2 % (ranking first among all provinces and cities), the three-year public sports venue service improvement project was successfully completed.

In addition to competitive sports and national fitness, Zhejiang Sports Lottery has further focused on the integration of “sports + culture + tourism” in recent years and has frequently made efforts to promote rural revitalization. According to Ji Shaobin, deputy director of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Yunhe County, Lishui City, more than 2 million yuan in sports lottery charity funds have been used for the construction of various sports events every year since 2021. “Sports lottery charity funds have promoted rural revitalization.
