An important material and technical foundation for major scientific and technological issues in social development. Peking University has joined forces with multiple units to build a major national science and technology infrastructure for multimodal cross-scale biomedical imaging to provide imaging omics research methods for the study of complex life science issues and major diseases. Peking University and other units hold the “Huairou Forum” with imaging facilities as the core. They hope that participating experts and scholars can have in-depth exchanges at the forum, further promote the cross-integration of imaging technology with basic life sciences, clinical medicine, especially precision medicine, and strengthen education. The connection between the chain, innovation chain, talent chain and industrial chain jointly promotes major scientific breakthroughs and technological innovation in the field of biomedical imaging.
Guo Lugang delivered a speech
Guo Lugang, vice chairman of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, said in his speech that the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, as an important force in promoting the development of science and technology in the capital and building Beijing into an international science and technology innovation center, actively serves the construction of a century-old science city. Relying on the leading and radiating role of large science facilities, the Huairou Forum has attracted and gathered a group of international cutting-edge scientific and technological talents, made effective contributions to promoting the paradigm change of biomedical research, and has become the “innovation link” of Haizhi, the capital of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology. One of the brand activities. He said that the Beijing Association for Science and Technology will work with universities and colleges including Peking University and the National Biomedical Imaging Science and Technology Innovation Alliance to link global innovation resources, strengthen the cultivation, introduction and encouragement of scientific and technological talents, and contribute to the economic and social development and development of Huairou District. Social governance provides intellectual support and scientific and technological empowerment, contributing to the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and high-quality development of the capital.
In the keynote report session, 9 academicians and experts including Stefan W. Hell and Xie Xiaoliang gave keynote reports of the conference, and 16 outstanding domestic and foreign scientists and young scholars gave academic reports. Participating experts will conduct in-depth academic exchanges and discussions around the development of biomedical imaging science and technology, and report on scientific frontiers and the latest research results. Professor Chen Liangyi, deputy director of the National Center for Biomedical Imaging Science of Peking University, and Professor Chen Zhixing of Peking University respectively hosted two roundtable meetings, allowing scientists from different professional fields to have high-end dialogues, share experiences, collide with sparks of wisdom, conduct brainstorming, and promote in-depth exchanges. cooperate.
During the meeting, the participants visited the imaging facility park and learned about the imaging construction on the spot. The visiting and inspecting personnel listened to the introduction of the settled instruments and equipment and some typical highlight equipment, visited the imaging facility exhibition hall, and experienced first-hand the bright prospects of imaging facility construction and future development.
During the “Huairou Forum”, three satellite meetings were also held.
One of the satellite conferences – RNA Multi-dimensional Imaging and Life and Health Forum
In recent years, Chinese scientists have made significant progress in static and live cell RNA imaging research. From November 1st to 3rd, the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the School of Future Technology of Peking University jointly held the RNA Multi-dimensional Imaging and Life and Health Forum to build a platform for disciplinary integration development, exchange and cooperation, and strive to accelerate the innovative development of China’s RNA field. and rapid progress in the field of life and health.
