Gaoping City is the area with the richest cultural resources of Emperor Yan of Shennong in the country, with relatively complete historical relics, detailed and reliable written records, strong evidence from cultural relics excavations, unique stone inscriptions, long-standing sacrificial activities, and far-reaching influence on customs and culture.

Since 2016, Gaoping has held seven consecutive folk ancestor worship ceremonies for Shennong Yandi compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
