[The Epoch Times, April 22, 2024](Interview and report by Epoch Times reporter Xue Mingzhu) The San Francisco Chapter of the Society of Chinese Engineers in the Americas held an online press conference on the 18th and announced that it will be held on April 27 (next Saturday) at Santa Clara Convention Center hosts the 45th annual meeting. The annual meeting will be rich in content and the senior vice president of Advanced Micro Devices will be the keynote speaker.

With the theme of “Rethinking Boundaries: Artificial Intelligence and Creativity”, this annual conference includes a seminar on emerging technologies, as well as a dinner and awards ceremony. Dr. Vamsi Boppana, head of the artificial intelligence field and senior vice president of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), will serve as the guest speaker at the annual meeting dinner.

During the dinner, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Science and Technology Humanities Award of the Year, and the Student Scholarship Award will also be presented. Among them, Dr. Song Li, founder and executive chairman of Frontage Laboratories, and Dr. Norman Chang, chief scientist of ANSYS (ANSYS Fellow), were awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award respectively.

The Chinese Institute of Engineers in the Americas (abbreviation: China-American Institute of Engineers, CIE) was established in New York in 1917. The San Francisco branch was founded in 1979, with Dr. Ta-lin Hsu as the first president. There are currently seven chapters in the United States. In addition to the New York and San Francisco chapters, there are also chapters in Dallas, Seattle, New Mexico, Environmental Protection Society (OCEESA) and Los Angeles.
